This is joint creativity and a joke by Olena Romanska and Sasha Rzhondkovsky. Salo (lard) is a favorite snack of Ukrainians, and this combination of rye bread, salo and onions is also the most popular, especially as a snack to horilka. Of course, it is not consumed this way, in the form of nigiri. Why did we make such a canape? Because we also love sushi! And now it is difficult to say what inspired Olena Romanska to the idea of creating this photo... Was it eating a sandwich with salo or sushi with fish?
The picture made in 2010 and then published for the first time. Over the years, it has managed to repeatedly become the material for memes and jokes, without our participation, permission, or mention of authorship. This is a success!
